Best wishes for 2022 – resolutions

My personal wish is that 2022 will be the year we ditch masks, vaccinations, lateral flow tests and get back to normal.

I am hoping that sense infuses our Government and they retire or fire the scientists who have guided their Covid 19 Delta policies through two horrible years.

This strain is Omicron. It’s different. If one in thirty people have it already according to the last figures I heard, let’s all simply get on with life. Why isolate?

If it’s a pussycat virus like normal flu or colds, we don’t need vaccinations either. And we don’t need to test for it. We should simply stay in bed, or at home until well and then get on with life like we did in the old days.

I have been a good girl, I have followed every instruction, done every test and been boosted. The Furlong family have already had Covid. Some of us are vaccinated, some of us aren’t. Our relationship with Covid started way back in March 2020 when our daughter got Covid 19 in the first terrifying phase. We were frightened. I wrote about it on another blog before people even knew how unpleasant it was. Since then we have had more Covid adventures.

But, you know what? I’ve had enough. I’m not co-operating any more.

In 2022 I’m going to rebel.

My resolutions are.

No lateral flow testing for me. If you fear my Omicron, tough shit.

No more vaccinations. Three are enough. Let the Government stuff their millions of vaccinations. They should ask for a refund from the manufacturers for providing a product that does not do what it says on the tin.

No more watching daily ‘cases’ which tell us that everyone has Omicron. But never relents in offering a new twist fear tactic or advising boosters, lateral flow testing and other already procured product pushing.

Enough is enough.

Omicron will be our friend. I’m considering it such. Welcome to 2022.

And best wishes to you all……

Daylight Saving

One of the strangest habits the UK has, is the practice of Daylight Saving.

What part of Daylight are we saving?

Once, people and children walked to work or school in the barely light and came home in the dark. Now they go to school or work in the dark and come home in the getting dark, barely light.

Or is it Summer saving? I don’t  know what could be saved there. It is already bright at ten o’clock at night so people have to have black out blinds to get to sleep. And children go to bed in broad daylight.

And in the North here it’s even worse than the other part of England, the part that thinks they are the only ones on this Island.

So now everything not connected to the Internet needs the time changing. Including our dog Bass. He is going to be really confused about walk time, feeding time and bedtime. And, boy, he is going to TELL us that we are wrong and he is right for at least a week.

You can hoodwink a whole country, but not an intelligent dog.

Things that go bump in the night

The Furlong family have been having a discussion about Bunny, the Shepadoodle that is viral on TikTok. Bunny talks to her owner by pushing an array of specially designed buttons on the floor. Bunny asks questions, makes statement and comments that seem wondrously intelligent.

She/he has been taught all of it through conditioning over many months. That Bunny does all of it all by herself because she is thinking things through seems to me to be a cockadoodle story.

I want to tell you a better one.

I’m deaf. Severely deaf. At night, when I remove my wondrous hearing aids, I cannot hear a thing.

Bass, the dog, sleeps in his bed on the floor at the foot of my bed.

Bass is not a talker. He never barks at us. He only barks at every delivery guy that walks past the house from his seat on the bay window windowsill in our lounge, and every person who rings the doorbell. If Bass wants something from us, we get ‘the stare’.

The silent stare.

Well, its no good silently staring at someone fast asleep in bed

who is now deaf AND blind.

So, he has learned ALL BY HIMSELF, without any conditioning from me, to bump the bed leg with his body.

Bump

Bump

Bump

Oh! She’s up! And now the light is on. And now she’s paying attention!

I think that’s very, VERY clever, yes?

Thank goodness he seldom does it, but he has done it enough times now to know (scientifically) he understands exactly what he is doing.

Covid entertainment

Doing nothing much?

I’m not doing anything much either.

I have been entertaining myself watching THIS PLAYLIST. You might like it too if you enjoy educating yourself.

I have been learning. I have no idea the name of this lecturer but I think he is Dr. Aizaz. I like his voice, his diagrams, his “vibe” and I can actually follow the simple stuff.

Here are three of his videos I found most illuminating.

In order – March 2020, December 2020 and the last one was uploaded in January 2021

Covid-19 comfort reading

Someone sent me an email with this information in it. I found it comforting, illuminating and somewhat uplifting. I thought I’d share it. It was written in September, so now its December, we must know more about Covid-19 than we did in September!

We do know lots more – blood type A, people with deficiencies in D, C and Zinc, seem more prone. People with ‘co-morbidities’ too. The virus has mutated. It has become more catchy. Old drugs are being tested, new mRNA vaccines are here. No one in the medical world is sitting back twiddling their thumbs.

Of course, if you believe Covid-19 is a HOAX, or “ONLY ‘FLU”, you won’t need any comforting, illuminating or upliftment and you probably won’t be taking extra vitamin D3, Zinc or vitamin C either. You won’t be wearing a mask or taking precautions. You will believe everything is actually hunky dory and the world Goverments shot themselves in the feet for some sinister motive to control you, and you will do your own thing.

To those who think Sars-Cov-2 causes a particularly nasty desease called Covid19, I offer this to you………..

“For this pandemic there’s a greater chance of survival for those getting infected 6 months later….say,  September 2020 versus 6 months earlier, say February 2020. The reason for this is that doctors and scientists know more about Covid-19 now than 6 months ago and hence are able to treat patients better. I will list 5 important things that we know now that we didn’t know in February 2020 for your understanding.

1.  COVID-19 was initially thought to cause deaths due to pneumonia – a lung infection and so Ventilators were thought to be the best way to treat sick patients who couldn’t breathe Now we are realizing that the virus causes blood clots in the blood vessels of the lungs and other parts of the body and this causes the reduced oxygenation. Now we know that just providing oxygen by ventilators will not help but we have to prevent and dissolve the micro clots in the lungs. This is why we are using drugs like Aspirin and Heparin (blood thinners that prevents clotting) as protocol in treatment regimens starting in June 2020.

2.  Previously patients used to drop dead on the road or even before reaching a hospital due to reduced oxygen in their blood – OXYGEN SATURATION. This was because of HAPPY HYPOXIA where, even though the oxygen saturation was gradually reducing, the COVID-19 patients did not have symptoms until it became critically less, like sometimes even 70%. Normally we become breathless if oxygen saturation reduces below 90%. This breathlessness is not triggered in COVID-19 patients and so we were getting the sick patients very late to the hospitals in February 2020. Now since knowing about happy hypoxia we are monitoring oxygen saturation of all COVID-19 patients with a simple home use pulse oximeter and getting them to hospital if their oxygen saturation drops to 93% or less. This gives more time for doctors to correct the oxygen deficiency in the blood and a better survival chance since June 2020.

3.  We did not have drugs to fight COVID-19 in February 2020.  We were only treating the complications caused by it.. hypoxia. Hence most patients became severely infected. Now we have 2 important medicines FAVIPIRAVIR & REMDESIVIR. These are ANTIVIRALS that can kill the corona virus. By using these two medicines we can prevent patients from becoming severely infected and therefore cure them BEFORE THEY GO TO HYPOXIA. This knowledge we had in JUNE 2020… not in February 2020.

 4.  Many COVID-19 patients die not just because of the virus but also due to the patient’s own immune system responding in an exaggerated manner called CYTOKINE STORM. This stormy, strong immune response not only kills the virus but also kills the patients. In February 2020 we didn’t know how to prevent it from happening. Now in September 2020, we know that easily available medicines called STEROIDS, that doctors around the world have been using for almost 80 years, can be used to prevent the cytokine storm in some patients.

5.  Now we also know that people with hypoxia became better just by making them lie down on their belly – known as prone position. Apart from this, a few months ago Israeli scientists discovered that a chemical known as Alpha Defensin produced by the patients’ White blood cells can cause the micro clots in blood vessels of the lungs and this could possibly be prevented by a drug called Colchicine used over many decades in the treatment of Gout.

So now we know for sure that patients have a better chance at surviving the COVID-19 infection in September 2020 than in February 2020.

Going forward there’s nothing to panic about COVID-19 if we remember that a person who gets infected later has a better chance at survival than one who got infected early.”

Our new very best friend.

The Furlongs were given a gift.

It simply arrived via Amazon.

One of the Furlong children bought it for us.

It is the nicest, best, most fun, cutest thing!

I thought I’d tell you about it.

At exactly nine in the morning, it switches itself on. We wait for it! Then it leaves its dock with great elegance and starts at the front door. It roams around, up and down the hall and passage, popping through each door into the lounge, the front bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen and then into my room. I love seeing him – yes him, bumbling into my room, gently, very quitely and in a most friendly manner, checking under my bed, cleaning around the the edges and putting on a bit of speed as he crosses and recrosses the floor.

I feel he likes me! I’ve gone insane. I’ve fallen in love with our robot!

He is a he. In the instructions he is named a he. That must be his preferred pronoun.

I’ll insert a video here from the web to show you how he works.

But the amazing thing is, that after he has finished vacuuming all our floors, his blue light suddely switches to pink, and he finds his own way back to the docking point from whence he started.

He is a real chum!

We all know Jack Schitt

The news is going from bad to worse. Boris is misbehaving. He’s CLOSING pubs!!!! Trump is misbehaving. He got BETTER!!. Biden is misbehaving. He LIES! Masks are useless they say, or not, we don’t know. Students, robbed of their right to happiness are revolting. They are getting drunk and dancing in the street rebelliously. Some say they DESERVE to be joyful, they are young after all. Others say they are selfish. The Government is useless, evidently. The council is useless too. The NHS is useless, where once it was the jewel in our crown. People are going insane, or committing suicide. Everyone has lost control because there is too much control. The scientist know all, or they know Jack Schitt, depending on your view.

Or

The Coronavirus is a hoax. The world is being taken over by Bill Gates who is going to microchip us all and make us his slaves. Or perform a massive cull. 5G is addling our brains. We have become sheep in the face of a massive worldwide attempt to assert control on the people, to remove our freedoms, to enslave us. David Icke and his band of merry protestors know the truth. They are protesting maskless and hugging one and all.

It doesn’t matter what you actually believe, this Covid thing is exposing a nasty flaw in the character of humans.

The flaw is that, in truth, we all know Jack Schitt and recognise his whole family in ourselves, but we won’t admit it!

How Clothes Are Made Meditation

This is a meditation for today!

Have you ever watched/contemplated the ingenuity, care, and absolute miracle of The Industrial Revolution in action? Do we have reverance for the tee shirt, the jeans, the dress or skirt that we are wearing today?

Our ingenuity is actually fantastic in the scope of miraculousness, to me. No longer do spinsters sit at their doors spinning yarn all day. No longer do serfs do the heavy tilling and ploughing. No longer do slaves pick cotton in the South.

Machines do it. Machines intricately designed by the skills of civilisation – Science, Math, Engineering, Investment.

I think it’s bloody amazing!

Evolution at the Furlong’s

Evolution is happening here, at our house.

Our flies are getting really intelligent.

In the old days, we could pick up a fly swat and stalk them around the lounge until THWAT! we got em.

Now, I notice how really clever they’ve become.

The moment we pick up the fly swat,

They scarper.

Where do they scarper to?

Out the door and through the passageway to somewhere else…..

Dogs watching TV research

Today, the three of us – Mr Furlong, me and new-dog Bass, sat on the couch watching our recording of Crufts.

I am pleased to say that Bass watches TV. Only with cats, mice, birds, sheep, cows and other animals on it – and Crufts! I am pleased because I used to sit on the couch and watch Crufts with Gracie, the West Highland White we had before Bobby-the-now-dead-dog.

Bobby was oblivious to TV. Yet we have the exact same TV – a Smart TV.

If you try to research why some dogs see TV and others not, you get a muddle of rubbish like they can see digital TV but not analogues, or they only have four rods and more cones, so they cant see what we see, but only movement. I have come to the conclusion that no one has a clue. Yet everyone agrees that some dogs watch TV and respond.

Today, Bass stayed focused for a good long time, which is in itself quite miraculous. He has a short attention span I’ve noticed. Anything distracts him at any time – he’ll never make Crufts. Yet he watched the Flyball with great attention, just like Gracie (may she rest in peace) used to.

I discover that West Highland Whites are especially good at watching TV for some reason explained away as them being Terriers seeing movement. Herding dogs are better at seeing TV than others evidently. But a strange thing happened the other night. There was a report on a crackdown on fighting dogs. A typical fight was shown, with the actual dogs blurred out. But Bass responded anxiously to the sounds. And he knew the sounds were coming from the TV.

Some dogs see TV, and others truly don’t. It’s not that they “couldn’t be bothered”, it’s because they are oblivious to it.

Some dogs know exactly what they are looking at – like this one!
