The Last Furlong

Marjorie Owens’ Art

Marjorie Owens Art

These are oils on canvas. Marjorie was a tiny person who trained horses and was a talented artist. The Furlong family own several of her paintings. I love the simplicity of her work – the details omitted, the broad strokes – that produce the emotion of the moment.

She was most well known for her Rupert Bear illustrations in the 1970’s.
