The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

Oh no! What have you done?

You know we have recently moved house. We moved from the country to the town. I often blogged about our garden, and its inhabitants at our old house. There were lots of little animals there.

when we left I wrote reams about them to the new people taking over our house, who were from a CITY.

I even drew a map to show where the hedgehogs entered, where they crossed, and where they exited into the next garden. Our house was on a hedgehog run.

But the city people only seemed worried about crime and thought our house was very “open” (whatever that means). The crime where we lived was zilch, nought, nothing. It is listed as one of the safest places to live in the UK.

we went back recently to see what’s been done to our beautiful garden.

The city people have erected a wopping heavy wooden fence, without a single crack in it, right around the perimeter. It’s so high, they could never hang over it to chat with the neighbour like we used to. And its so solid, not a woodmouse could ever pop through to entertain them

Sod it!

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
