The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

How would we know if there was an epidemic?

Mr Furlong and I have been sick.

With a Head Cold.

Aching body,

Sore throat.

Sore front-face.

Itchy scratchy cough.

But we are much better now. The worst lasted three days.

So I phoned our hairdresser to make an appointment for when we are really well. I explained we were still getting over the virus.

“Oh, don’t worry,” she said. “It’s in our family too – my Mom’s had the same thing. I’ll come round tomorrow and cut your hair. I don’t think I’ll get sick – I would have got it by now.”

The UK National Health website NHS Choices says to stay at home if you’ve got a virus and nurse yourself. Unless it settles somewhere, and changes to a bacterial infection.

Which means we’d never scientifically know if there was any kind of Viral epidemic, would we?

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
