The Furlongs had five children. Does that make us better than other people? No. But we know more about having five children than anyone else who’ve had no children/one child/two children/four children.
We don’t know what its like to have no children/one child/two children/four children.
We don’t know what it’s like to be lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, queer, heterosexual, or questioning either.
But we know a lot about having five children. I too “Genuinely (I ) feel that being a mum means you have a very real stake in the future of our country, a tangible stake.”
What a hoo-ha is going on in politics now – ludicrous! One could call it abuse.
A transcript of the interview released by the newspaper following Mrs Leadsom’s complaints showed the energy minister saying: “I am sure Theresa will be really sad she doesn’t have children so I don’t want this to be ‘Andrea has children, Theresa hasn’t’ because I think that would be really horrible but genuinely I feel that being a mum means you have a very real stake in the future of our country, a tangible stake.
“She possibly has nieces, nephews, lots of people, but I have children who are going to have children who will directly be a part of what happens next.”
I agree – us too!
