Today is voting day for the UK on whether we want to leave the European Union. It’s a historic day.
We have been entertained in the Media with many lies, half-truths, and opinions. And there has been much shouting and rudeness. Last night’s debate on Channel Four was a mess. Poor Paxman lost control. As a teacher, I know, once you’ve lost it, you’ve lost it. No return.
We have been told, that if we leave, there’s no return either. But no one, NO ONE has mentioned a very large section of one of the treaties that covers the protocol for countries that have left and wish to re-join the EU.
It might have taken many years to GET this referendum, but with enough dissatisfied citizens building up boiling point in any country, a referendum could be forced.
Whatever the outcome, I don’t think the people in the UK are going to settle down nicely. Things have been said that needed expressing and just like discipline, when you find they’ve escaped your control, it’s not easy to shut people up. The immigration questioners who for many years have been called racists and fruitcakes, are finally legitimised.
Mr Cameron, you’ve lost control. You’ve lost it, even if Remain wins. There’s no return, for a long time.
People have argued, shouted, insulted and forgotten their political correctness. And about time too!
I’m looking forward to the result tomorrow.
