The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

Philip Green and me

Philip Green was in the news – often – when us Furlongs were running our business. Today I watched him during the Parliamentary hearing. He’s in disgrace.

In those day our book-keeping was done on our computer by me. And all our financial doings were captured on an early version of Microsoft Office. Our computers had no firewalls. Those were the days of  less paranoia than nowadays. the days when “hacking” was a new phenomenon, and viruses were things that made people sick.

So one day, I sat at my computer to capture the sales of the day. Something was wrong with Microsoft Office. A page I’d never seen opened up as I went into my files.

It said –

Well, I know we weren’t making much money, but I’d like to say to the guy who hacked our computer, –

At least WE  are not in disgrace!

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
