Fayence Var – The market

Oh, there have been wonderful things to see and places to visit, here, where we were, in France. I have especially liked the Perched Villages. They are a bugger on the knees.

Provence is an ancient area of civilisation. In some places, they have found the earliest remains of humans in Europe. And it’s been a place of constant invasion, revolt, liberation and invasion. It’s full of history. The Perched Towns are on the top of mountains/high hills in the foothills of the Alps. ┬áDespite the knees, The Furlongs have explored them. Here are a few.

Perched Towns

There is a market at Fayence three times a week. Wonderful food and locally made goods.

Olives!

As expected in a forested area – wood too.

Every Perched village has its Chateaux and Castles.

Oh – and ancient churches.

Mr Furlong had no heart attack nor stroke. My knees survived. But our blood sugar has gone to pot!

I want to tell you about Nice – and I will – tomorrow.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!

  1. Lovely. Really interesting. And the French actually care about their churches. So many of them have been renovated fairly recently.
