Apologies to my followers

Since I started this blog, I’ve had a few followers – not many – but some.  I was unaware of the WordPress section that tells you who your followers are. I have not acknowledged you! Sorry. WordPress is thoroughly confusing to me.

I came to WordPress from Google blogs. If someone reads your post, that’s called 1 person. If 500 people read your post, that’s called 500 persons. If you don’t link your blog to Google+, it tells you 33 people are following you – or whatever. But if you link to Google+, ALL your Google+ friends are counted as “followers”.

With WordPress, it’s even more confusing. I don’t know where my followers came from. I can see who some are, and how many. But there are many more signed up for “email notifications” than are on my followers list – they are listed – where?  And then, are my Twitter “followers” part of my followers?

I don’t have a blog to get followers – I have a blog just because I couldn’t sleep one night in May 2014.

I don’t even know what I’m doing with this Blog. I don’t want to be political. I don’t want to dismantle the news, or talk about our weird world ’cause there’s no sense to be made of it – or point out that nobody REALLY knows aught.

So, this is my superficial outlet – all about us – the Last Furlongs. I know stuff about us best.

On the whole, it has no direction, no goal. I’m happy that anyone reads my Blog at all!

But the biggest mystery with WordPress is, that some days the “stats” reveal NO ONE has read my post, yet two or more people have commented on it. How could they do that without READING my post?

That’s a puzzlement!

Bless WordPress.

  1. Best not to check on this. We all do it for our own sake. Words on paper, as it were.

I am even a bit reluctant to press “Like” on another Word Press Blog because it is a form of self advertising. But who else would even know that one is there otherwise.
