The Truth about the FAKE

We are staying down in Bedfordshire – not our usual stamping ground.

So tonight we ran out of cream. Cream is one of my main foods with me being on a high fat diet and all that. Ooo nooo! No cream?

So I padded down to the corner shop in the cold and the dark to source Double Cream. Ooo nooo! No cream at the corner shop?

Ah! But look – here is E***** Double Cream! Yeah! I bought it.

Ah! But wait – its FAKE!

Vegetable fat 28% and vegetable oil 8.8% are added to milk 63%.  This artificial concoction requires food ‘additives’ like emulsifiers E435 E322 (made from soya i.e. GM), stabilisers E412, E410 and colour E 100a (white).

  1. Emergency, for cooking only, ingredient. From a corner shop perspective the mentioned heinous product has a longer shelf life than the real thing by a large margin. I notice in the supermarkets tinned is no longer available. We used to buy uht from the wholesalers in litres but that doesn’t appear to be available in the supermarkets.

Enjoy the squirrels, and get well soon to the SIL. No more, the dog wants to play, with menaces. Bossy little bitch.
