The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

How many times must I say it

If you were walking in our village (sorry Market Town) next to the Cricket Field at about four o’clock this afternoon, I want to tell you again. You scared the bejeezes out of me. I nearly came a cropper trying to get my dog away from your two. I want to say, again – again – and again….

KEEP YOUR BLOODY DOGS ON A LEAD!

KEEP YOUR BLOODY DOGS ON A LEAD!

KEEP YOUR BLOODY DOGS ON A LEAD!

If you say to me one more time in a happy, friendly voice “Oh. don’t worry, our dogs are nice and friendly.” I am going to stop and tell you that MY DOG DOESN’T CARE.

MY DOG IS NOT FRIENDLY. He’s an aggressive little bastard when it comes to other dogs.

If YOUR dogs are off the lead, I cannot guarantee their safety. because YOU can’t pull them away when the shit hits the fan.

And it always does.

Our dog LOOKS cute and fluffy, genial in every respect, but he’s a rescue dog that for some reason is frightened of other dogs. One dog on a lead is bad enough, but we can control that – both dog owners working together. One dog OFF a lead, won’t necessarily respond to a call in the heat of the moment. TWO dogs running free all over the place in friendly excitement is terrifying to a rescue dog with an issue. And impossible for their owners to deal with promptly.

If you are in a public place, it’s your duty to KEEP YOUR BLOODY DOGS ON A LEAD!

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
