The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

Waiting, waiting – baby not arrived

Oh no! This is a long hard labour for our youngest daughter. All the Furlongs are connected via text, Skype and phone. We are really pulling together in our love for each other.

If it were possible WE would have this baby for her. Waiting for better news has been a long hard slog. WE have no pain, except empathy and our love. And the sadness that this birth is a hard, long, unpleasant one.

What a pity.

No wonder Mothers put such value on their children – they will have been expensive in pain and huge physical effort that no one can understand unless they have done it too.

Thank goodness for epidurals.

The delivered new human will be a boy, I think. Or maybe a girl. No one minds.

Just come out you little sod. We are tired of waiting for you and you have made your Mummy horribly exhausted. And that’s an order from your Nanna.

Listen up!

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
