The wealthy man

‘We have never been “wealthy” financially, but we have never wanted for anything. Here are the rules that make us REALLY wealthy.

We try to be grateful for what we have.

We do not need to buy anything that is advertised.

We repair broken things. Admittedly it’s Mr Furlong that does the repairs. He has saved us thousands of pounds over the years. His repairs are meticulous – no Heath Robinson.

We have no need to keep up with the Jones’s. What other people have seldom evokes envy in us.

Mr Furlong would LIKE to have more money, but, actually, it is absolutely true that money does not bring happiness. It only buys goods/services.

So, never having had much money, we are very careful how we spend it. Once it is spent, you don’t have it any more.

Visualising wealth as is taught by some disciplines, doesn’t work unless you have feelings of abundance to match. When you have feelings of abundance and gratitude for that which you already have, then you are wealthy anyway. And then more is added to you.

Mr Furlong and I live a very comfortable life. FULL of everything we need. What more could we ask for?

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
