Easter bunny for allergies

We had a lovely Easter sunday. The Easter bunny came. We knew he had been, because he decorated all the trees. When the grandchildren arrived, they went on an Easter bunny gift hunt. Modern style. For allergic kids.

The modern Easter bunny doesn’t do high sugar stuff. He considers the fact that some children have milk allergies, or nut allergies, or chocolate allergies. Allergies are common nowadays. The Easter bunny has had to adapt.

But the fun was just the same. There was stuff hidden all over the garden! And we got to eat the hard-boiled eggs for lunch with mayonnaise  and cold chicken. Yum. and the kids took the fruit home.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!

  1. Oh God, I almost want to cry.

You do know that you are mad, of course.

    • Well, eggs and Christianity are a symbol of new life. We are not Christians, but, in fact, the whole myth of Easter, especially in climates with distinct seasons like ours, can be interpreted that Nature has come alive again after Winter. Our garden is raising itself from the dead for sure! Looking for eggs the Easter bunny has hidden in the garden has been a tradition in the Furlong Family – even in Africa, before allergies, when the chocolate eggs used to almost melt in the heat before our kids had even found them. Mad? Yup.
