There was a horrible accident in our town recently. Someone fell and seriously damaged their head. A local doctor was doing heart resuscitation on the person when I last saw. And the crowd were amazingly co-operative, by standing back, giving him lots of space.
It was life saving stuff.
The air ambulance arrived. ETA was nine minutes. It took nine minutes. And later, an ambulance – and police cars. But once airborne, the air ambulance has great advantages over an ambulance. In this mountainous place it is our wondrous friend.
Mr Furlong and I are great supporters of the air ambulance. It is not supported by the government.
And it should be.
