Swimming

A month without swimming – awful! Our pool has been closed for repairs.

Here, in our town, we have a pool where the locals can swim. It’s attached to a posh school. On a Friday, us oldies were allowed in for a small fee, to “swim”. But now they have made it a Tuesday at noon. That would suit me fine – if I could swap babysitting grandchildren to another day.

Trouble is, I go swimming every Thursday at a heated pool for recovering people – a hydrotherapy pool in a bigger town. There, we feel tremendously privileged, because places are rare, and we are referred by doctors. AND the temperature of the water is 34 degrees! In that hour, we mostly work very hard exercising rather than swimming, (unless we are talking). I try to get really tired according to the Paleolithic exercise principles. I have really missed not exercising for a month.

But the pool in our town, is only 28 degrees. And people actually SWIM.

That’s terrifying.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
