A result of banning smoking in pubs – boozing at home

An article in 2010 Why can’t us Brits handle our Alcohol? made me ponder the unforeseen effects of banning smoking in pubs. In the days when technology could easily have handled freshening the air in a pub, the ban seems insane to me. So thousands of Pubs have closed – and people drink and smoke at home. And five years later, the problem continues…

Quote – “Britain has never developed the civilised cafeculture that exists in France and Italy, where most people drink socially rather than to get drunk.”

Well – wasn’t that what Pubs were for?

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
