Filling the bucket

Do you know how the bucket works? I have only recently learned about the bucket.

I learned about the bucket when the Furlong granddaughter was born with eczema. Eczema is an immune system thing.

The Bucket Theory

Walls of the bucket = Your immune system’s capacity

Water level in the bucket = Summation of your load

Water overflow = Symptoms

Avoidance therapy = Allows less water into the bucket

Avoidance should include not only the identified allergens, but also factors which may contribute to increasing your total load, i.e. environmental , physical, and emotional stresses.

The Furlongs co-operate to allow as little water in the bucket as possible. We don’t want it over flowing! So granddaughter eats no commercial foods whatsoever. Mr Furlong makes delicious pure sausages that everyone loves, biltong and boerewors.

And our house is detergent free.

Keeping the bucket from overflowing is hard work.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!

  1. When I lived in Singapore, I saw a child who had arrived from UK with life long eczema, quite rapidly heal. This was put down to living in Singapore being like living in a sauna. It might be worth a try.

    • Very interesting! I also heard that the chlorine in swimming pools helps kids with eczema. Some people do chlorine baths. At the moment the Furlong granddaughter has no eczema, but I am going to look up saunas and eczema on the internet right now!
