Feeding the dog Paleo

We watched “Dogs – their secret lives – obesity in dogs” on the TV.
The program showed getting owners to measure out the food for their dogs – overweight dogs. Every dog owner used dry dog food! Some of them guessed the amount by using little containers to measure the volume. Even the smallest error made a big difference. So the only way to feed our dogs is evidently weighing out every meal.

Again, the Furlong household is the odd one out. No dry dog food in this house. Lots of it is made of ingredients any self respecting dog wouldn’t touch. And it is full of appetite increasing chemicals and artificial smells designed for the dog owners rather than the dogs!

Our dog is on Paleo. Every morning he gets a small amount of raw meat – heart or liver. And in the evening he eats a dish full of cooked veggies and diced raw meat.

He is slim. He is bright. He is active.

On a full tum tum he sleeps well at night.

And most pleasing of all – he doesn’t FART!

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!

  1. I gave up feeding my dogs Commercial Dog Food some five or six years ago, and my Shar Pei lived a good three years longer than is normally expected.
And it isn’t difficult or expensive to feed them raw meat, fish, and vegetables.
