Mr Furlong and I gave away our box of games that we found stuck in the back of the loft. The Furlong kids have left the nest years ago and their children play games on tablets. Except for a nice Dominoes set and Scrabble which we kept, our many games and jigsaw puzzles have gone to a better place where they might be used.
But in the bottom of the cardboard carton, I found a little red embroidered Chinese box in which were two curious balls. On reading the instructions, I find they are called Boading balls and are made of Jade. We have no recollection of where they came from, who gave them to us, or how we could have acquired them.
The instructions in very Chinese English tell us they are good for old people. So maybe that is why we discovered them now.
