The Last Furlong

Comments on the race of life.

Internet Starvation

The Furlong house has been offline for several days. We have had to rely on watching TV to gather news.

Mr Furlong and I are used to getting our news off the internet. Somehow having to watch it on the telly makes us feel that we really have no idea what is going on out there in the real world. Everything we know is being filtered through someone who is censoring what they think we ought to know.

I am behind in blogging. Thank goodness Mr Furlong ordered the fan for our central heating (which is also not working)) before our server disappeared.

The last taped message on the server’s help line (no human to be heard) said “Sorry, our service is down. We are trying to fix it as soon as possible.” Well THAT was four days ago on Saturday morning and it is now Tuesday. There seems to be no human anywhere on any telephone on any number. I have tried them all. Even the message “press three for technical support” has disappeared. Something really terrible must have happened.

But we’ll never find out – we have no internet.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
