In Africa we had lots of tree frogs. I like tree frogs. In the frog world they are extra cute; not horribly knobbly, warty, obese or clammy. We sometimes found them in our bathroom stuck on the tiles like little green plastic sucker-toys. They are very smart, neat and elegant little things all shiny and glossy with (sometimes) yellow pinstripe waistcoats.
Sometimes you could get them to stick on your finger. They would be as nervous as you, their little throats pulsing white in fear. You were nervous holding one because at any moment they might leap off and zap back on the wall. Zapping always gives people a start.
