Tribalism

Mr Furlong makes me laugh sometimes. He has the knack of summing up my angst in a single word.

As the coming election party politics offerings appear on the Telly, we are entertained by the colours each party flaunts and their message, as bland as each other, leaves me frustrated and angry. I am beginning to doubt Democracy as a system. We are ruled by idiots.

I’m the political one in the Furlong family. It is quite clear to me that all the spin, jostling, bad mouthing, and ridiculous antics employed by the Red, the Yellow and the Blue politicians are quite laughable really. It’s only the colour of their ties that defines any of them.

So when my blood is up, Mr Furlong simply says “Tribalism”, and he’s dead right. It’s not Democracy – it’s Tribalism. The Oxbridge Tribe.

I'm someone also pounding the Path, just like you.. I'm retired, going into Old Age and loving my life. I'm hoping to remain happy and well for as long as possible. Old Age is not SO bad - yet!
